Japanese writing Club

I have long believed that by writing on their own, people can experience the joy of self-expression, and by sharing it with others, they can find an even greater sense of hope. I am currently working as a Japanese language teacher. I began to wonder how wonderful it would be to create a single piece of work together with people around the world who are interested in the Japanese language.

At first, I started this project with some of my close friends. Through it, I was able to discover diverse scenes and perspectives from around the world, which brought me great happiness. The project has become a meaningful learning experience not only for Japanese language learners, but also for native Japanese speakers of all ages living in Japan.

If you are interested in joining this project, you are welcome to participate even just once. I would be delighted if this could become a place where you can share your own work with the world through self-expression in Japanese.

Japanese Writing Club

ーOnly japaneseー

In this club, members learn Japanese together in small groups of up to eight participants through 45-minute online sessions held about three times a month.

Participants are expected to have a Japanese proficiency level of A2 or higher. The instructor(Myu) will speak in a way that is understandable for learners at A2 level and above. （Beginner level, able to have simple conversations）

Activities include sharing pieces from the web magazine, exchanging kanji quizzes, and creating and challenging each other with instant Japanese writing prompts.

This is not a one-way class where a teacher simply instructs. Research in Second Language Acquisition suggests that one of the most effective ways to accelerate language learning is through collaborative learning with peers.

Let’s enjoy learning together through self-expression in Japanese. A certified Japanese language teacher, Myu, will participate in every session and provide thoughtful support for your learning.

For those who would like advice or corrections before submitting their work: if you send your initial draft, I will return it with feedback and suggestions for more natural Japanese expressions.

suggestions regarding expression are only that—suggestions. Your words belong to you, so you do not have to revise them exactly as suggested. I hope you will find them helpful as a reference for improving your Japanese writing.

Submission Only Plan

Write and submit a 50–100 character Japanese text each month based on a shared theme, together with Japanese learners from around the world. You may also include photos or illustrations with your submission. By continuing to take part in the project, you can steadily improve your Japanese writing skills. If you would like your work to be reviewed and corrected before submission, please select the “Feedback & Corrections Included” plan.

Free participation for up to 10 people each month (registration will close once capacity is reached).
