We hope that every person can embrace who they are and live their one and only life to the fullest.

Research at Jour House
Exploring how words can change the way we learn, feel, and grow.
Jour House explores the relationship between language, self-expression, and personal growth through practice-based research.
One of our current projects takes place in martial arts dojos in South America.
After training, athletes are invited to write a simple three-line diary in Japanese.
Through these short reflections, we explore how the continued practice of writing may relate to changes in three areas:
Mind — thoughts, emotions, self-awareness, and motivation
Practice — awareness of training and perceived changes in technique
Japanese — vocabulary, expression, and confidence in using the language
Through small words written after each practice, we hope to explore how language can become part of learning — not only as something to study, but as a way to reflect, express, and understand oneself.
Current Project — Three-Line Diary × Martial Arts × Japanese

ことばを書くことは、学びや心にどんな変化をもたらすのだろう。
Jour Houseでは、ことば・自己表現・人の成長の関係を、実践を通して探究しています。
現在取り組んでいる研究のひとつが、南米の武道場で行う「3行日記」の実践です。
稽古を終えたアスリートたちに、毎回、日本語で短い3行日記を書いてもらいます。
その小さな記録を継続することで、
心 — 気持ち、自己認識、モチベーション
稽古 — 稽古への意識や、本人が感じる技術面の変化
日本語 — 語彙、表現、ことばを使う自信
に、どのような変化が見られるのかを探ります。
日本語をただ「学ぶもの」としてではなく、
自分を振り返り、自分を表現し、自分自身を理解するためのことばとして使ったら、何が起こるのか。
小さな3行から、その可能性を考えていきます。
進行中のプロジェクト — 「3行日記」×「武道」×「日本語」
2026年12月より南米にてフィールドワークを実施予定。

A story born from a place where one grandmother lived her life.
Inspired by a real fruit farmer in Saku, Nagano, who grew peaches and prunes until the age of 89, Kudamono Baachan no Niwa brings her orchard to life through warm and playful fictional stories.
ひとりのおばあさんが生きた場所から、生まれた物語。
長野県佐久市で、89歳まで桃とプルーンを育てたおばあさんと、その果樹園をモチーフに描いたフィクションです。
くだものばあちゃんと、かかし、動物や虫たちが繰り広げる、ちょっと愉快で心あたたまる物語。
OUR STORY
This house began a long time ago.
The name Jour House has been with me for a very long time. “Jour” comes from a nickname my friends have called me with affection since I was a child. And “House” comes from a wish I have carried with me since elementary school: “Even when I’m an old woman, I hope all kinds of people will still come and visit my home.” As a child, I was always writing something, making something, and sharing what I created with my family, friends at school, and people in my neighborhood. And now that I am an adult, I realize that I still want to do the very same thing. For more than twenty years, I have lived alongside words — writing articles and books, teaching people how to express themselves through writing, and teaching Japanese. For me, words have always been a source of joy and freedom. And now, Jour House has become a place where all the things I have been doing over the years can finally come together. MYU Japanese Academy, where people learn Japanese and express who they are. Writing Club, where people from around the world write, read, share, and create together. Kotoba Output Class, where children begin with a simple question: “What do I think?” And the words, stories, and books that grow from everyday life. At the heart of all these places is the same wish: To discover what is within you. To express it in your own words. And through those words, to encounter someone else. To discover yourself and the world through words. And to live your one and only life, fully as the person you are. Jour House hopes to be a place that supports each person in doing just that.
Jour Houseという名前は、ずっと昔から私の中にありました。 “Jour”は、子どもの頃から、友人たちから親しみを込めて呼ばれてきたニックネーム。 “House”は、小学生の時から、「おばあさんになっても、いつも色んな人が私の家に遊びに来てほしいなぁ」とずっと思ってきたこと。 そんな子どもの頃の私は、毎日何かを書き綴り、何かを制作し、それを家族や学校の人たちや近所の人に共有することが大好きでした。大人になった今でも、同じことがしたいのです。 この20年以上、ずっと記事を書いたり、本を書いたり、作文の書き方を伝えたり、日本語を教えたり、ことばと共に生きてきました。それは、私にとって、とても楽しく、自由を感じられるものでした。 そうして今、Jour Houseは、これまで私が取り組んできた活動をひとつの場所としてつなげることができました。 日本語を学び、自分を表現する MYU Japanese Academy。 世界の人たちと書き、読み、作品をつくる Writing Club。 子どもたちが「自分はどう思う？」から始める ことばのアウトプット教室。 日々のことばや物語、本。 自分の中にあるものを見つけ、自分のことばで表現し、そのことばを通して誰かと出会っていく。 ことばを通して、自分と世界に出会う。 そして、一人ひとりが、自分という一人の人間を生かして、たった一度の人生を生きていく。 Jour Houseは、そんな皆さんを応援する場所でありたいと思 っています。
