Japanese Writing Specialist | Nationally Certified Japanese Language Teacher

Since my university years, I have worked as a baseball journalist for over 20 years, contributing to more than 15 nonfiction publications on high school baseball.

Through my reporting, I conducted a six-year field study of over 30 high school baseball teams, focusing on players’ daily “practice journals” written after training. I explored how consistent journaling influenced both their psychological development and athletic performance, and documented these insights in a six-volume series.

Through years of field research, I came to deeply recognize the power of journaling—writing one’s thoughts by hand—as a tool for reflection and growth. In 2026, I began a new research focus on the effects of journaling among athletes in Central and South America.

Since 2016, I have been running a creative writing program for elementary school students in Japan. With a strong focus on the joy of writing, I work closely with children to help them express themselves freely and confidently. Many of my students have received awards in writing competitions, and my classes have maintained a retention rate of over 90%.

I have authored several books, including writing guides and children’s literature.

I am deeply passionate about writing in all its forms. I also enjoy traveling—both on my own and with my daughter—which continues to inspire my perspective on language and expression.

大学在学中より野球記者として活動し、約20年にわたり高校野球を中心とした取材に従事。ノンフィクション分野において15冊以上の執筆・寄稿を行う。取材の中で、球児たちが日々書き続ける「練習日誌」に着目。30チーム以上を対象に5年間のフィールドワークを行い、書く習慣がもたらす心理面および技術面への影響を探究。その成果として『野球ノートに書いた甲子園』シリーズ(全6巻)を制作。長年の実地研究を通して、「書くこと」は単なる記録ではなく、思考を深め、自己を形成する営みであると確信するに至る。現在はその知見をもとに、ジャーナリングの教育的効果についての研究を継続し、2026年より中南米のアスリートを対象とした調査にも取り組んでいる。

2016年より、日本国内にて小学生を対象とした作文教育に携わる。表現することの喜びを軸に据えた指導を行い、これまでに多くの受賞者を輩出。クラスでは90%を超える継続率を維持。

著書に『書くことが好きになる!おうちで作文教室』、児童書『くだものばあちゃんの庭』など。

書くことは、思考と表現をつなぐ行為であり、人生を豊かにする力であると考えている。

趣味は冒険を感じるような一人旅と、娘との国内や海外への二人旅。
