Stories with Myu

Write about what you love: piano
Write about what you love: drawing
Write about what you love: soccer
Write about what you love: food

You don't need perfect Japanese.

Write about what you love.
Write about your life.
Write about your hometown.
Write about music, movies, anime, sports, food, or art.
Write about something you've been thinking about.
Or create a story only you can tell.

Your words may open a new world for someone.

And someone else's words may open a new world for you.

Write your story. Choose what happens next.

WRITE YOUR WORLD.
YOUR STORY, YOUR WAY.

A global Japanese writing club where people write, share, learn, and connect through Japanese.

More than Japanese practice.

Japanese Writing Club began as a small project connecting Japanese learners around the world with native Japanese speakers through writing.

But writing is more than language practice.

When we write, we discover our own thoughts.

When we read someone else's words, we discover a life and a world different from our own.

Sometimes, someone's words make us feel understood, hopeful, curious, or excited about life.

That's what we want to create together — a place where words travel beyond countries, ages, and languages.

How the Japanese Writing Club Works

From writing your story to sharing, reading, connecting, and learning through Japanese.

Write

Choose our monthly prompt — or write freely about something that matters to you.

Perfect Japanese is not required.

We value your own words and your own voice.

Then, choose what you want to do with your story.

Sharing is always your choice.

Share

Publish your work in the Stories with Myu Writing Collection.

Read other writers' stories, exchange comments and thoughts, and connect with people around the world.

Learn

Use your own writing as your Japanese-learning material.

Discover new ways to express what you wanted to say, practice useful grammar and expressions, or develop your story into Japanese conversation practice.

You don't need to publish your writing to learn from it.

Or Simply Write

Sometimes, writing itself is enough.

Write quietly for yourself, explore your thoughts, and keep your story private.

Your words don't have to be shared to have value.

Your story, your way.

Write. Share. Learn. Connect.
Choose what feels right for you.

Writing is just the beginning.

Read each other's work, exchange thoughts, and connect with writers around the world.

Writing is just the beginning - write, learn, share, and connect through Japanese

Ideas for what to write about in Japanese

Learn Japanese Through Real Stories

Japanese doesn't have to begin with a textbook.

Sometimes the most memorable Japanese comes from something you really wanted to say.

Myu selects interesting expressions, words, kanji, and grammar found in our writers' works and turns them into small learning activities.

That means our Writing Collection can also become a Japanese-learning notebook created from real people's stories.

And if you'd like to go deeper into your own Japanese, your own writing can become your learning material, too.

Publish it or keep it private — you can still learn from your own words.

Personal learning options with Myu are also available.

Want to go deeper with your Japanese?
Personal learning with Myu is always optional.

Your writing becomes the starting point for our conversation. During the session, Myu will ask you lots of questions inspired by what you wrote — about your ideas, experiences, interests, and the story behind your words. You’ll practice listening and responding in Japanese, while learning how to express your own thoughts more naturally in conversation. There’s no need to prepare perfect answers. The goal is to talk more, think in Japanese, and turn the Japanese you know into Japanese you can actually use. Recommended for anyone who wants to practice speaking Japanese through topics that are personally meaningful to them.

Our Community Guidelines

Be curious. Be kind. Be yourself.

Japanese Writing Club is not a competition, and your Japanese doesn't have to be perfect.

When reading someone else's work, we value curiosity, kindness, and respect.

Instead of correcting each other's Japanese, let's share what we enjoyed, what surprised us, and what we'd love to know more about.

We are here to share our worlds — not to judge them.

地球儀に触れる子供

Your words can travel.

A story written in Mexico may reach someone in Japan.
A child's words in Japan may reach someone on the other side of the world.

Write your world.
Choose what happens next.
